Actually, I did hear somewhere here that you can email dual MOBIs that contain both mobi7 and mobi8 content, and amazon will accept it and give you KF8 (complete with embedded fonts and all) on supported devices. But I haven't tried it out.

Under Preferences ==> Output ==> MOBI, choose MOBI file type = "both", and give it a try, but I guarantee nothing.
