I was puzzled a bit on why also until I remembered there is more than 1 way to use this board.

If you happen to use New Posts (on menu above), ignore probably has use

If you view by forum (like I do) it appears strange.

There may also be differences depending on How a thread displays (I use Linear-Display Oldest first)
