A great way to become proficient in python (or any language) is to read through an experienced python developers' codebase with an eye to making changes/improvements.

While I dont claim to be a great python master, I have written a fair bit of python in the last decade, so the editor's code should expose you to lots of idiomatic python. And feel free to ask if you find something hard to understand. I will be delighted to offer pointers.
