I have a PRS-505 (about 6 weeks old) bought online from Waterstones. Last week I left it charging on my PC for several hours and have not used it or even opened the cover since I unplugged it. Today, when I opened it the screen shows the Menu faintly and has a large exclamation mark in the centre. At the bottom it states "No Battery!" and the battery symbol is empty. I do not have an alternative power supply. Plugging into the USB port does nothing (although the red light indicates charging).

There is no response to a soft reset and the reader is not seen by the PC.

Is there anything that I can do or is it actually a case of a totally failed battery rather than a systems fault?
