Yesterday found a free app named TouchMousePointer (
http://www.lovesummertrue.com/touchmousepointer/en-us/) , which is an on-screen trackpad for windows 8 with touchscreen.
You can use it as you normally use any trackpad on laptop, and use the shift-click function to select more than one word in Chrome. No need to change your browser.
it also solves the problem with multiple file selection in file explorer. I just hate it when I already select 5 files, and when I touch the sixth file, then all files deselected due to small screen size.
