It took me a few tries, because I couldn't see the .kobo folder on my macbook. But I got it to work! Looking forward to trying in bed tonight, it'll be nice to not be blinded by the crazy light.
If anyone else has problems finding the .kobo folder on a mac. Try typing the following in Terminal to show all hidden folders:
defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles 1
and then reboot your computer.
