I've read it and it's sequel and enjoyed them both. It has the creators of Doc Savage and The Shadow along with some other pulp writers like L. Ron Hubbard in a pulpish adventure.

The sequel, The Astounding, The Amazing, The Unknown, moves it up to WWII with Robert Heinlein, Isaac Asimov, and L. Sprague de Camp working for the navy and getting involved in a science fictionish adventure involving Nicolas Tesla.
Both are excellent, especially if you are familiar with the writers.
