My husband chuckles because I carry an emergency waterproof stuff sack that contains long undies, wool socks, food, fire starting stuff, compass, knife, and water purifying tablets.

Be very careful - that level of BP can be very dangerous. If there is no physical cause, it may be a warning to re-evaluate your stress level(s).
