Well, three days, but only two nights. What's one more night when backpacking? I remember several times, at the end of a week or two-week backpacking trip in the Adirondacks of NY State, the White Mountains of New Hampshire (my favorite playground,) and the Green Mountains of Vermont when approaching the trailhead where the car was parked, turning around for an extra night or two just cuz we didn't want to come out of the woods. In fact, when finishing up a two-week canoe trip in Parc La Vérendrye Wildlife Reserve with my ex-wife, we were in sight of the boat dock at Park Headquarters, stopped, took stock of our food situation, turned the canoe around and stayed out for another four days, eating fish for lunch and dinner! I never want to get back into 'civilization' after being in the woods!
