It's creepy that Jessica seems to know so much about the electronics in my house....

True in our case. Our Fires are being replaced by other tablets, and if it wasn't for the fact that Amazon kept replacing them for us long after the warranty, all our Fires would have been out long ago. My mom, on the other hand, is using my sister's hand-me-down iPad 2.

The same can be said for Macs and iPhones. There are more people with 2007/8 MacBook Pros than with Dell laptops from that same year.

True for me as well. I just got a 2008 MBP, and while I do also have a similar vintage Dell desktop (what I'm typing on now) my Windows laptops of that era all went out via eBay.

Android guys don't complain about KitKat, but the majority of them probably haven't even seen Jelly Bean.

Jelly Bean has penetrated remarkably well, I think. The fragmentation has quite settled down. I'm pleased that all our current smartphones are slated for Kitkat supposedly. I don't like to upgrade frequently, and it seems that from now on devices will last through several versions of Android just like they last through several versions of iOS.
