Not alarmist at all if you do any of the things we mentioned. Even if you don't do the things mentioned it is possible your computer is now part of a botnet.

If Malwarebytes is alarming when you connect to MR then you still have problems with a virus or malware on your computer. Malwarebytes never triggers any alarms when I go to MR so it is safe to say it isn't MR that has the problem.

As long as you are comfortable with the risks mentioned ...
