You're Canadian and you aren't considering a Kobo?

As far as I can see, the PRS-T3 is the only current touch screen ereader with buttons. I haven't tried one, but my understanding was that Sony's support for PDF was about the best on the 6" e-ink ereaders. The Sony's do PDF reflow which can improve things.

Looking at the specs, the SimpleTouch wouldn't be that good. The screen is only 600*800 whereas the T3 is 758*1024. The clarity of the higher resolution screen will be an advantage.

You should also consider the Kobo devices. The Glo and Aura are 6" with 758*1024. The Aura HD is 6.7" with 1080*1440. The extra size and resolution can help with PDF. All three of these ereaders are frontlit which improves the display even in reasonable well lit areas. I have a Glo. The PDF display is good, but, the size of the screen makes it impractical except for PDFs that are designed for small pages. For larger pages, you can zoom, but that make navigation harder.
