I think that may also be a problem - you could instead use Joel's calibre plugin
to convert the original epub into a kepub even if you do not have a Kobo (or
this one, since you have it). I seem to remember there were issues on how Kobo declares the positions of the various components of the book, but I can't remember now, I think it was a discussion between Joel and David(for), but it was a while ago and I am not too sure...
