Although Sigil won't be getting any more updates, it is currently very stable and very few bugs left unswatted. I fully expect it to be usable for a very long time to come for straight-forward epub2 books, particularly fiction books. I expect to still be using it next year this time.

Now, as epub3 features come more to the fore, it will have to be phased out, but at the rate that epub3 readers are becoming available, I don't think Sigil is quite in its final death throes just yet.

This is to take nothing away from the rapidly developing Calibre Editor, I'm just saying Sigil is still a *very* viable option for epub2.

I don't think we need to erect a tombstone in the next 5 minutes...
