The question about the Kobo desktop application version was related to why calibre didn't recognise it. There was a new version of the application release in the last few days. Using that might have caused the problem you are seeing. That is also why I wanted to see the version numbers from the warning in calibre. That would make sure that what you have is what I was expecting.
