The software version under Device Information on the Glo is:
3.1.1 (761b066420, 12/11/13)
I only used the Kobo desktop to get it up and running, I don't plan on using it for further management and haven't opened since I closed it after set-up.
(I use MAC address filtering as an additional layer of security on my Wifi, so I couldn't use wireless set-up .... couldn't get to the MAC address until after it was set-up)
Anyway, I ejected from Calibre got no error (actually go nothing, not even a notice saying it was safe to remove) ... however, the system tray icon still shows the Kobo as mounted and the Windows Explorer also shows it as mounted.
I closed Calibre. (and the Explorer Window it opened on connecting)
When I click on the icon for "Safely Remove Hardware", I can select to "Eject ereader 3.1.1" (the "Koboereader (e: )" below that is grey out) When I do select "Eject ereader 3.1.1", I get the following error:
This device is currently in use. Close and programs or windows that might be using the device, and then try again. <OK>
I re-opened Windows Explorer. "KOBOEREADER (E: )" shows up under Computer. When i right click on that and select "eject", I get the following:
'KOBOEREADER (E: )' is currently in use.
Save any open files on this disc, and then close the files or programs using the files before trying again.
If you choose to continue, the files will be closed, which might cause data to be lost.
<Cancel> <Try again> <Continue>
No other programs are open (except my browner is this specific instance, but closing the browser doesn't change the error)
Choosing "Try Again" results in the same error. Choosing "Continue" results in a pop-up from the System Tray says "Safe To Remove Hardware" and then "the device can be safely removed" (or some such thing, it pops-up and then disappears.
After the pop-up disappears, so does the "remove hardware icon from the tray" ... (you know, the little USB plug with the green check mark graphic).
So, I don't mind doing it that way through the Windows Explorer ... IF I'm not corrupting any files.
