Hope all your love ones make it in safe. I got one at work but we have 4 wheel drive so should be okay. They haven't closed the factory down yet.
We got about the same amount so far and it coming down hard now.

Keep in mind - unless she read the other, it isn't plagiarizing (otherwise, those TV writers would be in big trouble, as they all write practically the same show, ripped from current headlines).

And one scene does not a book make, either. It's entirely possible that she read the other or something similar and then the scene "popped into her head" when writing. It's difficult to go back and check dozens (or hundreds) of books to see if a scene you are writing was in one of them.

Now, if it were one she had read recently or consciously copied, that would be a different matter. I'm sure with no one talking, we'll never know the real story (unless it goes to court).
I wish that were the case but it's the same story, the same characters just the name changes and perspective to First person instead of third.

According to Ms. Roberts

"The email from a fan pointed out these similarities: “her heroine does crime scene clean up and she hires an ex cop to work with her. She has a dead brother. She talks to ghosts and tells them in order to help them ‘move on’ she needs to know what unfinished business they have. She cleans a meth house, a hoarder house and drives a van. She gets all 4 of her tires flattened. She gets grossed out when a ghost runs through her body. She describes a lot of how hard it is to clean a shotgun suicide in a small bathroom”

And the first scene starts out like heroine cleaning up a crime scene and listen to a ghost whine at her before she realizes she is going to late to her sister's birthday party. Both Books start out with the same scene only minor changes. No it isn't word for word but it's still a complete rip off.

If both books have the same scenes in them from above it's clear Ms Lynn did read that book. There's no way two people can think that much alike. Specially the shotgun suicide, meth, hoarder and van part that right there tells me she ripped off Wendy Roberts.
