I would have thought that something a lot more engaging than an encyclopaedia would help you hold focus better. And something with a topic you're interested in.
Maybe have a look at awards/best-ofs lists for YA and graphic nonfiction? They're mostly designed for a shorter attention span and a more difficult-to-catch focus.
