No - Kubrick only installs 3.4 - complete - kernel and system image (which contains the drivers)

And - The drivers are not your problem. The code in the eeeprom on the display cable is incorrect or missing.

What you refer to as a "mis-alignment" problem is a problem with the lower half of the display not working.
You should suspect a hardware problem - bad screen connector on mb, or bad driver hardware on mb.

Kubrick does not try to change the contents of the eeeprom on the cable.
