Unless you really time your reading saying after x-seconds I have to have read 50% of my page in order to make the page before it swaps...

Yes, it is handy for example in airplane during 6 hours flight when you have a lot of time and when you are too lazy to press page down button each time when you want to read next page
I spend about 20 seconds to read one page with font size 20 on my jetBook so this feature works fine for me.
