You are right, David, I'd like a Mini with the front light and the hi-res screen of an Aura HD. Why not?
For the rest, I want to be able to fill the screen with the text of the book, and just be able to look up the other things when I need them, which isn't very often. There is an awful lot of wasted space on the screen of a Mini.
I did read the thread entitled "Dreaming of a Kobo Aura Mini," and it waffled off-topic, and eventually lost me, but it did prompt me to post my own thread, which said what I wanted to see as succunctly as I was able. I acknowledge that my first sentence described features already in the Mini, but I would hope that with the light and hi-res screen of an Aura HD, the reading experience would be much enhanced.
Now, that was two sentences of my post, only one of which referred to things already present. The whole of the rest of my post dealt with what I perceive as the wasted space in a Mini screen, as currently configured. It irritates me so much, that, every time I start to read it, I end up going back to my Kindle Paperwhite 2. This, notwithstanding that I find the size of the Mini to be ideal.
Now, I acknowledge that this is a Kobo sub-forum, and I have just uttered a blasphemy, but the fact is that the Kindle software is much better than that of the Mini (value judgement, I know, but my opinion nonetheless). I keep trying with my Mini, but every time the bottom my page of text slides up a line for no good reason, I lose patience, and pick up my Kindle.
And now there are rumours on this forum, that Kobo is preparing to abandon the Mini! Aarrgh!!!
