I have tried cursing squirels in several languages (English, Welsh and Latin, so far). They are entirely unresponsive. They sit on the bird-table and just look at me, and only move on when I'm about a metre away from them. Now that the weather is colder, they are digging up the pots of flowers on my patio, which is annoying. One of these days, I will turn the hosepipe on them.
On the other hand, the foxes always vanish as soon as they see me.


If you had to put up with Dr Who, Torchwood and the other spin-offs blocking the traffic etc then you might not feel so enthusiastic about living on a space-time rift. Personally, I think that's where the squirrels emerged from.
