According to the original presentation, "Old DRM" fulfillment (i.e., serving up to RMSDK9 client systems, including ADE2.x) is available from CS5 servers
as an option, with Adobe CS5 customers (publishers/sellers) able to set an optional flag on their CS5 server installation to do so ... until July 2013, at which point the new "Hardened DRM" would be the CS5 servers' only option, as Adobe planned (again, according to the presentation) to shut down recognition of the CS5 "flag" at that time.
The post purportedly from someone at Adobe, posted at goodereader in response to the speculation about an "always on client" approach to DRM, is now walking back that July date to a new one: TBD (to be determined).
Remember, however, that some things apparently still stand from the presentation. Note, for example, that if your purchase is fulfilled on a client using RMSDK10 (including ADE3.0, or a shiny new e-toy), that you have 'poisoned' it yourself as to backwards compatibility. It will not sideload to RMSDK9 clients after that even though it is not the new "Hardened DRM".
(Again, that's according to the presentation, and it has not been contradicted yet. In practice, I believe people are still able to use the "tools" on books downloaded with ADE3.0, so perhaps this part of the presentation was talking only about CS5 sites and not CS4 sites?? Don't know.)
