Well, I figured out the problem with my edited plugin zip file (I zipped the files into a secondary folder).
The plugin now installs, but the icon text did not change. Can't seem to figure out which line in which .py file to edit...
Also, it occurs to me I may be infringing on the plugin creator's rights by editing the .py files - does anyone know if this ok to do?
