Both parents had macular degeneration. Both basically blind before they died. Hardest on my Mom who was a semi-heavy reader and loved her crosswords. Crossing my fingers it skips me...

I'm nearly 67 and my problems are near sighted/far sighted and the beginnings of a cataract in my left eye. I'm not comfortable reading the smaller type in a paper book, even with reading glasses. My Kindles are really what keep me reading.
