And what will this "hardened" DRM achieve in return?

Even the big publishers now know that going DRM-free did not increase piracy for Tor. At some point they'll eventually realize that Adobe DRM on commercial ebooks does nothing for them and actually helps Amazon and Apple. And indie publishers.

I don't expect them to wise up too soon but eventually...
