Man, I hate to hear that, especially it happening in a big metro area like Philly. My 2nd favorite closed shop last year - Owner and Cat retired. It had a corner bar sort of vibe, really irreplaceable. Hate to see any of them go.

If necessary there's the internet sites, like Abebooks, not to mention swap sites like Book Crossing, which I loved back in my pbook days.

My old eInk devices work just fine with my Alf'd books, and I'm fortunate enough to be a re-reader with a large collection. If I have to skip certain new titles in digital due to this nonsense, so be it. Money is the only thing that will impact their decisions, and even then I have my doubts they'll get the message. Probably blame piracy rather than their own self-defeating desperate grasping after a dying business formula.
