Not even that.

At the moment RMSDK10 supports the older RMSDK9-encryption. So all your old books will work with new readers.

What happens in another five years, when RMSDK11 and CS6 (say) come out, and support for the 'obsolete' RMSDK9 encryption is dropped?

This is the problem for all DRM schemes. How long can you expect the scheme to be supported on new devices?

Encrypted Mobipocket ebooks are now pretty much unreadable
CS3 encrypted PDFs are now pretty much unreadable
.LIT encrypted ebooks are now pretty much unreadable
.rb rocket encrypted ebooks are now pretty much unreadable
.pdb Palm encrypted ebooks are now pretty much unreadable

How long before the current ADE-encrypted ePub books become unreadable?
