Told your excellent joke today. I modified it just a little to achieve (I think) a better delivery:

A Hasidic man, with a long beard, payis (earlocks), a kaftan (a long black coat), and shtreiml (the traditional fur hat worn by Chassidic Jews), walks into a bar with a multi-colored parrot on his shoulder.

"Where'd you get that?" says the bartender.

"There's thousands of them in Brooklyn." replies the parrot.


P. S. I also replaced « Brooklyn » by « mile end » to adapt it to my neighborhood.
