you can get amazon to do it for free, if you are from a country where they do not really support, for example, russia.
you can contact amazon, with the live chat, and they may say they will do it, you will need to create an amazon account, and register the kindle. then then can turn off the SO.

it is possible to create an email address on a russian mail site, i guess it would probably work without. just because your email address doesn't end in .ru doesn't mean you are not from russia lol.

make sure you write in non-perfect english, just to seal the deal.

(of course, i only advise this for people in a non supported country. doing this from america etc, would be morally wrong)


-edit. i think you can do the live chat without being registered on amazon, so go to the live chat, tell them you have adverts but you cannot use them since you are in russia etc, they will walk you through what to do. you can stay on the live chat to them the whole duration when you are doing this, from start to finish, very kind people!
