You can use the same Kobo user on more than one device. At the moment, I have a Glo, to Touches and the apps on an iPad and an iPhone all logged into the same account.

When you setup the new device and login to the same account, it will automatically download the books for the account. Plus their reading status and any annotations. Any sideloaded books will need to be put onto the new device.

If you want to use a new account on the old device, then go to the settings and "Accounts" page and sign out. The device will remove any downloaded books, restart and take you through the basic setup. You can create a new account when doing this.

Depending on the age of your daughter and where you are, you might want to look at the "Kids" account. These are attached to the main account and put some restrictions on the books that can be seen. Plus you can give the account an allowance to buy books. This isn't available in all countries.
