In fact Akshayy went on to say that one couldn't identify before they bought what ADE version the ebook had, only after purchase.
However, also near to those posts in that ADE3 thread both Diapdealer and pdurrant identified that after purchases of Kobo books (bought then I think - and possible free) that they were ADE3 encrypted.
Provided you don't update your pc ADE when you next get notified then you will continue to open the books in ADE2 and therefore they will be able to be put through Calibre.
