Members have already reported receiving ADE3 encrypted from Kobo ebook purhases over the last few days.
There isn't any cleaner for ADE3 yet - so if you upgrade you will be stuck with DRM until there is.

So to avoid the new DRM scheme, make sure that you only download any newly purchased ePubs with ADE 2.0 for now.
Eventually, retailers/publishers might require the use of ADE 3.0 for new purchases. But until then, using ADE 2.0 is my advice.
