I am afraid that I do not follow the mental gymnastics which results in your accusing an organisation that attempts to follow the current standard become accused of taking over from the standard writer . Personally I would have thought complying was a good thing, but you are entitled to your own view on that.

Perhaps you have a closed and emotional attachment to another operating system and browser (in fact versions which almost no one else has any interest in) and that is the explanation?

Anyway, I think the original questions as to why the matter is occuring have all been answered, and I have no desire to take part in the rubbishing or otherwise of any of the 3 most popular browsers; so I am out of here.
