Tiny flaw in update notification

Now that the new editor is underway, I've started keeping up with the weekly updates. I usually wind up just running the update script I've kept in /opt. However, I run calibre from the command line prompt some time during the weekend and have consistently failed to get a list of new features. Here's what I do:

1) Start calibre from the command line by just typing "calibre". A popup named "Update available!" shows that says "new version 1.21 of calibre is available for download See the _new features_.

2) I click on _new features_ and nothing happens.

3) Disappointed, I exit calibre and then see a couple of new messages in my console window:
kfmclient: /opt/calibre/lib/libstdc++.so.6 version `GLIBCxx_3.4.15' not found (required by /usr/lib/libstreamanalyzer.so.0)
kfmclient: /opt/calibre/lib/libstdc++.so.6 version `GLIBCxx_3.4.15' not found (required by /usr/lib/libstreams.so.0)

Is this something I can fix? I'll have to say that even just getting the popup is enough for me to update manually.

I'm using fully-patched 64-bit kubuntu 12.04 LTS on appropriate hardware.

Thanks.
