Doesn't happen always - I can't put my finger on it (because then the page would be turned), but I sometimes notice it - the room is completely dark, though, so it's easier to notice.
(Also, it only happens when the light is on the lowest possible setting.)

If you get the APK, why shouldn't it work? If the developers of the app don't offer the APK, there are websites who somehow are able to get the APK for you. I think they're trustworthy.
I've downloaded and installed a card game, just for fun. It starts and you can try to play, but the way the screen is refreshed is horrifying on eInk...
[edit]I wonder how long it takes until someone produces a Cyanogenmod for the ImcoV6l :-)
(Or any other android derivate.)
