The security and privacy of our members is of the utmost concern. We are not here to serve the convenience of the writers and for them to do as they please.
Tiny URLs can hide dangerous properties, and sliding a mouse over the link will not reveal the full link's contents.
Every site has guidelines that were put into place for a reason. Abiding by our guidelines indicates respect and acceptance of those guidelines when you utilize our free service to promote your books.
You write: "Then, if we use a tiny url to make a nice neat looking thread, the post gets deleted" shows an absence of respect which is not at all characteristic of the majority of writers here who feel that self-promoting one's work is a service we provide - and not a privilege.
