I have the same problem. I have to power off three or four times in the evening when reading. Last night the device paged but three chapters by
itself. I let it go just to see how far it would go back. Then I powered off came back to the chapter and then carefully tried to move forward but several times it flipped back pages. It was a book that I had bought off Kobo but I have had it happen with library books as well.
Since we both have AuraHDs and you seem to be having these problems and I don't, reading with Koreader, perhaps if you tried Koreader and see if the problem goes away; we might be able to see if it is a hardware problem or a Kobo software problem.
