I assume that is the 2013 Fire HD? I am sure that is a nice choice for a reader. I have the 2012 Fire HD and find it overlarge and heavy for much reading. Though I do use it every night for news (Flipboard and Newshog, mostly) and web. I never really liked reading on it. The size of the original Fire was much nicer. I haven't seen the newest Fire HD.
