The regular Ubuntu setup includes Synaptic Package Manager, but you have to cast around a bit by clicking on the bar on the left side of the screen to find where it lists all the installed and available programs...not very intuitive. If my aging memory serves, once you find it you can drag it to that bar so it doesn't get lost again.
