I just switched my teaching schedule to all days (where I was teaching days and nights before) and I am planning on opening up my schedule to more writing and reading not related to my job. I will have 120 writing students this quarter, and I want to be a great educator while still having time to produce my work, as well as have time for my family and friends, and some down time. (I did not have these problems when I was working in the corporate world.)

This past year I let teaching take over everything. And I don’t want to repeat that. So I am asking you all if you have any personal habits that help you set time aside for your own writing work. Waiting until summer is not an option as I do not have summers off (or rather cannot afford to take them off).
