Device: Kindle Oasis 3 (sometimes iPad Mini).
And now things have gotten even stranger. I tried to copy a book to the device and the copy failed. This has happened several times. When it fails, I try again and it usually works. This book failed three times. But then when I looked at my iPad, I see that book, but with a grayed out cover. Then another one appeared. And another. And another. I closed Calibre, but copies of the book kept appearing. I can't click edit & delete. Finally, I restarted the iPad and the books stopped appearing and several vanished. But I can't do anything with them. When I got back into Calibre, it said that I had two copies of that book on the device. I tried to remove from the device via Calibre. One copy deleted (and a few of the gray versions vanished). But when I try to delete again, I get this:

calibre, version 1.18.0
ERROR: Error: Error communicating with device

u'iTunes/Reamde - Neal Stephenson.epub'

File "site-packages\calibre\devices\apple\driver.py", line 724, in delete_books
KeyError: u'iTunes/Title - Author.epub'

(Note that I've replaced the actual title & author above.
