Then I tried again some days ago, the same way, and they were accepted. I guess the only difference is that this time I changed one parameter in the conversion process: I changed from "both" (old & new) to "new" format only.

That's a pretty major difference
. Amazon have NEVER accepted personal docs in pure KF8 format.
