It's definitely DXG, see attached picture. It does say wireless in the menus, but displays 3G in the header before the bars appear. Also the user's guide says "When your Kindle is asleep, you will see an image on the screen. To turn off your Kindle completely, slide and hold the power switch for seven seconds, then release. The Kindle screen will go blank and the device will turn off." That's what I was referring to, but you have a point, if it is turned off "completely" how can it then display the critical warning message?
I did a search with a gibberish phrase and it came up with No Items. I tried MP3 player once, but I thought a restart turns it off. Thanks for the battery link, I might have to do it, but I am not sure how to "swap the front panel" if it doesn't work. If there is some software running in the background would hard reboot kill it?
