My favorite place to read is Sylvia Beach Hotel on the Oregon coast.
I can't remember a time when I didn't read before bed. Usually in bed but sometimes the light is a bother (not to me!) so I read elsewhere. That is one of the few daily constants throughout my life (the others being eating, sleeping, and feeding the cats).
