I'll jump in here for just a second ... In my opinion the Nook Simple Touch has nicer features, especially its "Shelves" feature (and it also has search) than does my Kindle 4 (Non-Touch) and Kindle 3. (Of course it doesn't read to you, like the Kindle 3 (or Touch) will.) But they're all good in my opinion. All pretty solid and reliable. I don't use backlit screens (I'm too cheap!) -- usually try to read in the light, but I do have M-Edge cases with the M-Edge E-Luminator light. It works pretty well and I actually use it more than I thought I would.

As for the new Glowlights in the UK, I'm guessing they're not there yet. The only place you can get them in the U.S. (for now) is at Barnes & Noble.
