They grilled the chicken and then put BBQ sauce on it. When I think of BBQ chicken (or anything), to me its BBQed if you put the sauce on it regardless of how it is actually cooked...
but grilling already cooked chicken to enhance the flavor sounds very good...
and there are so many wonderful ways to cook chicken.
