As announced in the developer mailing list, I managed to add a page indicator to the content lister. The approach has some limitations and it's still a
work-in-progress but I think it's refined enough for a public release.
As you can see in the 3rd screenshot, the app adds (updates, more precisely) a
[last opened page/total pages] tag in the description area of the contet lister.
Basic instructions:
- Unzip the application somewhere in the internal memory
- Set the path for your documents (default is /mnt/card)
- Start it
- Manually add a tag [/] to documents you want the app to work for
Caveats/limitations:
- It works only for pdfs
- If you open a pdf for the very first time the app won't work for it until you restart the app (or reboot). Therefore this approach is not suited for very short documents
- After you apply the [/] tag to a document, nothing will happen most probably. You have to refresh the page to get the numbers (e.g. go to next page in the content lister and back).
- The algorithm to obtain the total number of pages is naive to say the least and can display wrong numbers. You can correct them manually if you want.
Feedback and suggestions for improvements appreciated.
