At least you can sync the reader without tearing your hair out. Usually. For the most part, mostly... Uh, you know what I mean.

Yeah, my husband says the same thing. At least you're not yelling it at me, lol!

Yes, but when I did that before - adding the "Update" folder and the "manifest.md5sum", overwriting the "KoboRoot.tgz" file- it went into a perpetual powering on loop and never went anywhere else. After 20 minutes of trying the paperclip/home button restore it *finally* responded to that and rolled back to 1.9.6. So I'm hesitant to try that again. Unless you mean to roll back to 1.9.6, overlay 2.4.0, let it update the reader (I have no idea how for that will get as I'd have to log into my account and then it would shove the new firmware on anyway), extract those files, roll back again to 1.9.6, install newest firmware, then replace ALL the files with 2.4.0?

Okay, so it's not just me then.

When I put the reader to sleep, or power it off, the cover is a blank space with the title and the author written on it - like it couldn't create the image with the book cover picture. I noticed that on the previous version of the firmware I had before rolling back to 2.4.0. It's not a huge deal, but it's annoying.

It's not so much the WRONG cover as the image is just not being built properly.
I've toyed with the idea of using the direct internal memory, the only 2 reasons I have for NOT doing that are 1) I have a the books safe on a separate card in case I have to reformat or the Kobo eats them (happened once before, they just disappeared off the internal memory) and 2) if there is a problem with a book not being formatted properly and the Kobo gets stuck in a processing loop. Also happened ("Snow White and the Huntsman"

), so I removed the card, removed the book, reinserted the card and it was fine.
I'm looking harder into the SQLlite database editor, that may just solve my issue if I can go from 1.9.6 directly to 2.4.0. I can re add my 4 pages of collections, no problem.
Still dragging my feet regarding the Kindle.... My husband doesn't think it'll solve my problems as I like to have around 1300 ebooks on my reader.
