This is by no means certain. Indeed, I'd suggest that what evidence there is points in the other direction.

Tor went DRM free in the middle of 2012. Tor has stated that they have seen no increase in piracy from going DRM-free.

What is certain is that without DRM, publishers would be making $0.22 extra on each ePub ebook they sold.
